Melanie Lewis

History and role

Melanie graduated from Bath Spa University with a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Biology. Shortly after graduating, Melanie joined Scientific Services in 2005. She began her career as a trainee asbestos bulk analyst and achieved her P401. At this time, Melanie also managed our UKAS accredited, Microbiology laboratory for shellfish and water testing. Next, Melanie went on to complete her P901 and P902 qualifications for Legionella. These have enabled her to complete our accurate, Legionella risk assessments.

Melanie has progressed throughout the laboratory and has taken on roles and responsibilities within the quality management system. She has now progressed to her current position of Quality Manager.

Personal interests

In Melanie’s spare time she likes to be with her husband and son enjoying the beaches and cycle trails. She also likes to travel whenever possible.
